XVII century
In the 18th century his son Ivan Fedorovich Charnysh a military chancellor and statesman (1698 A.D), serving as Colonel of Hadiach (1709-1715) before being aapponted General Judge of Cossack hetmanate. in charge of the legal system, administering courts and resolving disputes between the regiments. Under his administration the Hetmanate began evolving from a loose military confederation into a structured administrative state.
His son and daughters by the late eighteenth century have become prominaent landowners in the fertile Poltava region, anecdonately so fertile due to it's famous black soil that Nazi regiments attempted to transport the soil back to germany during their occupaction of Ukraine.
Grain shipments from this region were wide and vast stretching to western europe and france, the shipments were key in mitigating famines in Europe.

In the 19th century Vasyl Nikolaevich Charnysh, at age seventeed volunteed and fought for the Russian Imperial army against the ottoman empire in the Siege of Plevna where he was heroically wounded.
It was in this period that the bloodlines of Mytropolskyi and Charnysh merged, as Aleksey Savvich Mytropolskyi studing and the physics and mathematics University in St. Petersberg he met Vera Vasilievna Charnysh. Rising to be one of the most prominent
1911, Mytropolskyi Family Name & Crest is official established and registered with the Imperial Authorities By Savvich Oleksiyovich Mytropolskyi (1883-1936) a participant in the First-World-War, soon after in 1917 the Bolshevik Revolution and their rise to power in Russia and it's colonies, leading to the majority of the family fleeing to western Europe. As part of crackdowns on the nobility, the family had it's lands and industry nationalized & collectivized, Despite the threat of significant punishment by the communist authorities, family documents and history were kept, hidden in secret.
Notably, the family showed it's perserverance through the actions of Yuri Oleksiyovich Mytropolskyi (1917-2008) who participated in the Served in the Great Patriotic War (WW2), he fought in the Baltics as part of the 137th Army Cannon Artillery Brigade of the 1st Shock Army, in August 1944 and June 1945 was awarded two Orders of the Red Star, ending his service as an adjutant to the brigade commander. Later he became the director of Institute of the Institute of Mathematics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukraine SSR (Kyiv), for his work in mathematics, mechanics and cybernetics, and more specifically asymptotic methods of nonlinear mechanics he was one of only two ukrainains to recieve the Hero of Socialist Labour Award (1986) and in 2007 by The Order of the State was awarded the title Hero of Ukraine by then President Viktor Yuchenko.
Academic Achievements continued with his son Oleksii Yurvich Mytropolskyi (1942-2021) initiality working as a geotechnical technician in the Subpolars Urals. He initiated the First Specialized Geological-Geophysical (Metallogenic) Expedition to the Indian Ocean on the scientific vessel "Akademik Vernadsk" in 1978-1979, Since 1984 he participated in four specialized geological and geophysical expenditions to the shelf and continental slope of Guniea, and based on their findings the first geological and geophysical atlas of the economic zone of the Republic of Guinea was created for the West African region. where as a UNESCO lecturer, he gave a course of lectures to students from 8 West African countries. in 1989 he became a professor of the Department of Marine Geology, of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv State University. later becoming an elected member of the Moscow Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences and a full member of St. Petersburg International Academy of Sciences for Econology, Human and Nature Safety. Honored Scientist and Engineer of Ukraine, awarded several medals, 1985 - laureate of the V. I. Vernadsky Prize of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR, in 1986 and 2002 awarded with honorary diplomas of the Presidium of the NAS of Ukraine, 1987 - with a diploma of the Secretariat for Science and Research of the Republic of Guinea, 2000 - laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of science and technology, 2002 - with the M. I. Ivanyuta Prize.
Although, records have been lost to history, likely dispearing in the fleeing of the petrograds (modern day St. Petersburg) 1905 Bloody Sunday Massacre and subsequent Revolutionary movements.
The family name is believed to have been decreed by the Orthodox Church somewhere in the XVII century St. Petersburg to an ancestor who worked as a Metropolitan, a title in slav-speaking orthodox churches used to designate heads of autocephalous churches (a church that enjoys total canonical and administrative independence and elects its own primates and bishops). Metropolitans were typically high-ranking bishops, one of only few who could read and write within their parish. and therefore were dutied with making copies of the bible and other church texts & records, as well as the handle the beurocratic and financial administration of the church and it's a territorial area coextinsive with a civil province.
Earliest yet found, Family tree records reachs Fedor Charnysh in the Poltava heartland of Ukraine, he served among the cossack officers who defended who defended the region during the Chyhyryn Campaigns, the area became a strategic battleground between the Ottoman Empire, the Polissh Lithuanian Commonwealth, and moscovite forces. Playing a cruciaal role in shaping the political structure of the emerging Cossack state.
